The understanding of the why or VALUE of the change is critical to sustaining. We have found that the key to sustaining continuous improvement is OWNERSHIP. If people don't see VALUE and take OWNERSHIP they will never sustain the improvement. You can sustain by making it a condition of employment, we call this LOYAL CHANGE, but we are striving for something more, INSPIRED CHANGE, change because people believe in and own the process.
