It is interesting to me that in the article about Weiner and Tressel, one of the comments upheld Joe Paterno as a model of outstanding character and leadership. I know that it is questioned about what all he knew about the Sandusky scandal, there is still a question mark concerning him. So, with situations like this, who can you really trust? How can we really know if our leaders have integrity or if they are just putting on a front so the skeletons in their closets aren't discovered? Are their leaders who do the right thing regardless of the short-term consequences because they know that ultimately doing the right thing is far more important to all involved? It just seems that the younger generation is getting the message that it is OK to do "whatever" as long as you cover yourself enough not to get caught. And even those who appear to do the right thing are have a cloud of suspicion because of all those who have sold their souls.
