Sadly in the market today there are so many different "types" of growth that people want to see. All of it depends on what the shareholders want to hear. Of course, they wish to hear positive news, so companies will swing the issue to make whatever happened in the quarter into a positive light.

Almost like how people will go visit family, buy a meal and write that meal off on their taxes because they talked "business".
