Social networking sites are also gaining traction as effective (yet inexpensive) recruiting tools. Rather than paying huge sums to post jobs on sites like Monster.com, and receiving tons of resumes from unqualified candidates, recruiters are paying lower fees to get access to a large database of well-qualified individuals. While certainly smaller than a Facebook and MySpace, LinkedIn still boasts an attractive database of 40 million professionals.
